Kosovo Assembly Speaker, Kadri Veseli, during the conference “NATO and the Western Balkans - Regional Dynamics in the Era of Global Security Challenges”, said that Kosovo expects Serbia soon will recognise the independence of the newest state of Europe.
Veseli who is also chairman of the ruling Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), said that Kosovo after three months celebrates tenth anniversary of the independence and Serbia should recognise this fact. “After three months Kosovo celebrates tenth anniversary of its independence. Kosovo proved as a state contributing to peace and democracy in the region and beyond. We have built good relations with neighbours, including Serbia. We expect Serbia will soon recognise the statehood of our country,” said Veseli who during the 1998-99 war in Kosovo was one of the senior commanders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) fighting Serbian military and police forces.
