New Slovak Prime Minister, Peter Pellegrini, said in Parliament in Bratislava ahead of the EU-Western Balkans Summit of Sofia set to be held on 17-18 May, that nobody is asking Slovakia to recognise the independence of Kosovo.
He also said that Bratislava is not intending to change its stance on Kosovo. Slovakia is one of the five EU member countries which have not recognised Kosovo’s independence. Other EU non-recognisers are: Spain, Greece, Cyprus and Romania. “Nobody is asking us to recognise Kosovo. Slovakia is not intending to change anything related to this issue,” Pellegrini said in Parliament.
