Greek Foreign Minister Nikolaos Kotzias is paying his first official visit to Kosovo. After landing in Pristina Airport Kotzias was welcomed by his Kosovo counterpart, Behgjet Pacolli.
Greek Foreign Minister is visiting Kosovo as part of his Balkans tour and comes after visiting Belgrade when he said that Greece has not changed its stance on Kosovo. Greece is one of the five EU members which has not recognised Kosovo’s independence. Despite early announcement, a planned joint press conference of Pacolli and Kotzias was suddenly cancelled.
Posing for photographs Kotzias was asked to comment on cancellation of the media dressing. He cited “many important topics” with his Kosovo counterpart as the reason stating that they have no time for the press conference.
Greek FM explained in Belgrade on Wednesday that the trade office of Kosovo in Athens will not be a diplomatic office as reported by media. "That's neither been agreed, nor envisaged," he told a joint news conference with Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic.
