Kosovo war crimes court imposed on Kosovo, says ex-prime minister GazetaExpress

Kosovo’s opposition leader says international community imposed to Kosovo creation of the Specialist Chambers based at the Hague, established to try alleged crimes committed by Kosovo Liberation Army, KLA.

Former Prime Minister of Kosovo and leader of the biggest opposition party in Kosovo, LDK, Isa Mustafa, in a televised interview on Friday said Kosovo was under pressure, including pressure from the US to accept the war crimes court, with the justification that in case of refusal the UN was ready to unilaterally establish a court with the help of Russia and China, two countries which oppose Kosovo’s independence. “The court was established because of international pressure, neither MPs who voted its creation nor President, who now is blamed for the court, were in favour,” Mustafa said. He said that despite being political rival of Thaci, he cannot blame him for creation of the all-international Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecutor’s Office operating at The Hague.
