Head of Kosovo’s delegation in technical talks with Serbia, Avni Arifi, said that the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities will be formed based on the Constitution of Kosovo. Technical teams of Pristina and Belgrade have resumed today talks as part of the EU-facilitated talks in Brussels.
“Pristina’s stance on the Association is clear: The Association should be established based on the decision of the Constitutional Court, and a new draft on this agreement is expected,” Deutsche Welle in Albanian quotes Arifi as saying. The European Union officials, who are facilitators of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, have stated that the EU expects constructive engagement from both sides and a result-oriented approach. ““Full implementation of all agreements in the dialogue is significant for the progress of both Serbia and Kosovo on the path towards the EU,” said European Commission spokesperson, Maja Kocijancic, after the meeting of Kosovo and Serbia delegation in February.
Pristina and Belgrade teams are expected to meet today in Brussels when parties will will focus on the establishment of the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities, energy, bridge in Mitrovica, freedom of movement and integrated administrative crossings. This new round of talks is expected to last until 21 March.
