A bomb blast on 2 January 2018, in the Swedish town of Helsingborg, left wounded the daughter of former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Nasim Haradinaj, according to Swedish media.
The powerful explosion in an apartment left wounded Ariana Haradinaj, who works as nurse in this town and who is preparing for studies in Sweden. Kosovo news agency Kosovapress asked the father of Ariana, Nasim Haaradinaj, whether the attack is linked with his political activities. “Explosion in a resident building is a terrorist act regardless who the target of the attack was. I don’t want to speculate on the motives of the attack and it is up to the Swedish authorities to investigate and solve the case,” said Nasim Haradinaj, who heads the Association of the KLA Veterans. After treatment in the hospital, the Swedish police have transferred Ariana into a safe shelter.
Ariana’s father, Nasim Haradinaj, was one of the initiators of the petition launched recently by the KLA veterans asking the amending of the Law on Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecution Office, an international war crimes court which will deal with alleged crimes of former KLA members. The KLA veterans have submitted the petition to the Assembly asking the Court to investigate all crimes committed in Kosovo and not to prosecute and try only Albanians.
