US refuses visa for Serbia’s army chief of staff because of crimes committed in Kosovo GazetaExpress

The US rejection of a visa application for the Serbian army chief of staff, Ljubisa Dikovic, was done because of his responsibility for crimes committed during the war in Kosovo, and not because of his affiliation with Russia, said Nemanja Stjepanovic, researcher of the Humanitarian Law Centre (HLC)

Serbian authorities stated that the US EMbassy in Belgrade has rejected the visa application because of Dikovic's stance towards Russia and his presence at the Russian-Belarus military exercise. But Stjepanovic told Belgrade daily Danas that General Dikovic was rejected visa because of his role during the war in Kosovo in 1998-99. According to Stjepanovic, the HLC has made a publication on the role of the Yugoslav Army Brigade 37 under Dikovic’s command and their crimes committed against Albanian civilians during Kosovo conflict.
