Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci, after arriving in Sofia (Bulgaria) when he is expected to attend EU-Western Balkans Sumit, has met the EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, and Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic.
Thaci said that during the meeting with Mogherini he discussed on the importance of Kosovo’s participation in this summit, as well as visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens, Thaci said that with Mogherini they discussed also on the necessity to continue the EU-facilitated dialogue with Serbia. In a statement posted in social media, Thaci also confirmed that he had a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic with the mediation of the EU foreign policy chief Mogherini, noting that they have agreed for the final phase of the dialogue to be concluded in the near future. “It is a new momentum which requires mobilization of politics, civil society and media in Kosovo, because the dialogue will be concluded with Kosovo’s recognition by Serbia and membership into the UN,” Thaci wrote. He said that meeting with Vucic proves that Kosovo is fully committed to the dialogue and good neighborly relations.
