Representatives of the Serbian election list Srpska have frozen communication with Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and his cabinet.
The letter that Srpska has sent to Thaci says that President's policy relating to the position of Serbs in Kosovo is anti-constitutional, unlawful and to the detriment of the Serbian citizens, according to Serbia's broadcaster RTS. It also points out that Srpska is the most powerful political organization of Kosovo Serbs and the most responsible one for the protection of the rights and interests of the Serb people. "The results we have achieved in parliamentary and local elections give us the right and legitimacy to use all available democratic steps in order to fulfill our political mission," the letter said. According to Srpska, Thaci had signed the First Brussels Agreement but he has not done anything to enable establishment of the Association of Serb Municipalities in accordance with the signed agreement. Srpska points out that Thaci ignores the problems and interests of the Serbian people. "Our communication can be restored as soon as you end the political practice that brings the Serbian people and Srpska to fait accompli and compels us to take such steps," the Srpska’s letter reads.
