A team of forensic experts has started Monday the assessment of an area suspected of containing a mass grave dating to the time of Kosovo war. The alleged site is located in the Gllareva region, Municipality of Klina.
Experts of the Kosovo Department of Forensic Medicine (DFM) during the site assessment on Monday discovered human remains which according to preliminary results are of a victim killed during the war in Kosovo in 1998-99. The head of Kosovo's Government Commission on Missing Persons, Prenek Gjetaj, said that the body remains found at the alleged mass grave site were buried without ceremonies. He said that the identity of the victim remains still unknown. More than 1400 people are still considered as missing in Kosovo, most of them Albanians who went missing during the war in 1998-99.
