Senior official of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Muharrem Nitaj has confirmed that the PDK-AAK-Nisma (PAN) candidate for prime minister Ramush Haradinaj met on Wednesday the chairman of the Alliance New Kosova (AKR) Behgjet Pacolli in his residence.
Nitaj refused to comment whether Haradinaj and Pacolli have reached an agreement, noting that they only agreed that the country should urgently create new institutions. Pacolli’s party the AKR is in coalition with the LDK and Alternativa and has won only four seats. Nitaj confirming Wednesday’s meting between Haradinaj and Pacolli said the meeting was “substantial” and both leaders “discussed creation of new institutions of Kosovo.” When asked whether Haradinaj and Pacolli reached an agreement on creation of new institutions aiming at overcoming political crisis, Nitaj said that Pacoli and his party played a construyctire role in the past and this needs to be appreciated. “All what I can say is that Haradinaj as PAN’s candidate for prime minister, but also Mr. Pacolli and AKR, are aware that creation of institutions is crucial. Mr. Pacolli has presented new ideas over the last weeks on how to overcome current political stalemate. They agreed that citizens of this country deserve to have its institutions as soon as possible. And of course Mr. Pacolli’s role but also other leaders, is very important, to find a solution to current situation,” Nitaj said calling the meeting as “constructive.”
