Political parties are due to meet next Wednesday in their efforts to elect the Speaker of Assembly after postponing again constitutive session on Friday.
The Kosovo Assembly session leader, Adem Mikullovci, who as the oldest MP is in charge of the proceedings until the speaker is voted in, called on Friday a consultative meeting with the representatives of political parties represented at the Assembly to discuss continuation of the constitutive session. In a press release issued by Assembly’s press service it is stated that following the discussion it was decided for a new consultative meeting be held on 09 August at 10:00, on continuation of the constitutive session of Assembly. The Vetevendosje announced that their representatives will boycott the meeting. The PDK-AAK-Nisma (PAN) coalition MPs is boycotting the Assembly in a bid to postpone the vote on speaker and government leader until “a package deal” is reached. Their proposal has been rejected by other parties stating that the Pan lacks votes to elect the Speaker and new Government.
