The chairman of the Alliance New Kosova (AKR), Behgjet Pacolli, during an interview with the public broadcaster (RTK) which will be aired on Wednesday evening gave a 10-day ultimatum to the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and Vetevendosje to confirm if they have numbers to create institutions.
If they fail to meet his demand, Pacolli will chose the other option by creating institutions with the PDK-AAK-Nisma (PAN) coalition. Currently the PAN coalition counting on 20 votes of minorities represented in the Assembly in one ned, and the LDK-AKR-Alternativa and Vetevendosje on the other end, share equal number of seats in Kosovo assembly 60-60. This was confirmed during a test vote provoked by the PAN asking postponement of the constitutive session of Assembly for additional consultations on proposing the speaker. In order to create simple majority in Assembly the PAN as winning coalition needs votes of at least 61 MPs. PAN in continuity has asked the support of the AKR and other individual MPs of other parties in order to form the Government. But so far only the LDK MP Teuta Rugova has raised her hand in support of PAN in the Assembly.
But it seems that the AKR leader is trying to change the political balances in the Assembly. During an interview with the RKT show ‘Debate” hosted by Ridvan Berisha, Pacolli gave ten days to the LDK and Vetevendosje to confirm whether they have necessary numbers to create institutions after 11 June election. Pacolli made it clear that if the LDK and Vetevendosje fail to convince him that they necessary votes to form institutions, the country will not remain locked in standstill implying that he will join the PAN coalition and form new institutions. /GazetaExpress/
