The constitutive session of Assembly was stalled again on Thursday due to no quorum.
Session leader, Adem Mikullovci, informed MPs that there is lack of quorum and he is forced to close the constitutive session where MPs were invited to vote the speaker and his deputies. Mikullovci confirmed that only 59 out of 120 MPs were present in the Assembly in the third attempt of Assembly to vote the Speaker. As expected the PDK-AAK-Nisma (PAN) MPs boycotted the session with the justification that session leader called the meeting unilaterally and without consulting all parties. The PAN as winners of June election, are obliged to propose a speaker but they are delaying the process fearing lack of support in Assembly. In addition to PAN also MPs representing minorities were not present. The LDK MP Teuta Rugova who openly supported the PAN candidate for prime minister, Ramush Haradinaj, was absent during today’s session.
Media reported on Wednesday that the PAN coalition is delaying creation of new institutions on purpose until assures necessary majority in Assembly to elect the speaker and form new Government. Despite winning 39 seats in new Assembly the PAN is struggling to get 61 votes needed to form institutions. Other parties, including the Vetevendosje ranked as second, and the LDK, are refusing cooperation with PAN. The PAN officials are counting on 20 votes of MPs representing minorities and votes of some individual MPs to create the Government. /GazetaExpress/
