Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, is visiting Brussels when he met the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn.
Hoxhaj informed Hahn on the progress Kosovo has made in fulfilling the visa liberalisation criteria, adding that he expects positive recommendations from the European Commission on the visa free regime. According to Hoxhaj Kosovo has worked hard to fulfil the key criterion, ratification of the Agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro, and is working continuously in fighting organised crime and corruption as the last criteria for Kosovo to get visa liberalisation.
Deputy Prime Minister Hoxhaj and Commissioner Hahn talked also on latest developments in Kosovo and the region, the European perspective of the Western Balkans, as well as the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia facilitated by the EU. “Excellent meeting with good friend, Commissioner Johannes Hahn, discussing latest developments in Kosovo and Western Balkans, European perspective, and dialogue with Serbia. Thanked for the support and emphasized the anticipation of our citizens to travel soon without visas,” Hoxhaj Tweeted after meeting Hahn. During his visit to Brussels Hoxhaj met also senior EU officials discussing visa liberalisation.
