Kosovo Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, says the truth on border delineation with Montenegro will be revealed soon. Ratification of the Agreement is one of the last criteria for Kosovo to get visa liberalisation with the EU.
Haradinaj said the implementation of the Stabilization-Association Agreement (SAA), will make the EU to move forward on visa liberalization with Kosovo. “We have already started working for the upcoming year. The candidate status is one of the topics expected to be discussed between Kosovo and the EU, and I assure you that this will not last for years. Our Government by implementing the SAA will make the EU institutions to lift visas for Kosovo citizens. Visa liberalization is conditioned with the delineation of border with Montenegro.”
He said that the Government has no time to lose. “We have appointed new members of the state Commission on border demarcation to find the truth. When the Commission concludes its work we will find a solution, this issue cannot be postponed indefinitely,” said Haradinaj during an electoral rally held in the village Duzhnje of Gjakova.
Haradinaj itself is challenging current version of the Agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro reached in 2015. According to Haradinaj current version of demarcation is wrong and Kosovo loses more than 8000 hectares of land.
