EU to continue leading Pristina-Belgrade dialogue, says US Ambassador Scott GazetaExpress

The U.S. involvement in the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade depends from “other factors,” said on Saturday U.S. Ambassador to Serbia, Kyle Scott.

“The dialogue should be continued with an agreement between Belgrade and Pristina. The European Union is leading that dialogue and we are happy with it, and we think it should be like that,” Scott told journalists in Belgrade, according to Radio Free Europe. Scott also said that “entire international community should have a role in the dialogue process,” noting that the U.S. wants to support a sustainable peace in the region. On Friday, Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, said that he expects the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina to resume by the end of June. Political parties in Kosovo are disputing Kosovo President Hashim Thaci’s role as chief negotiator of Kosovo in the EU-facilitated dialogue with Serbia in Brussels.
